Lots of unfair developers (Garmin, where are you?)

I am terribly annoyed by the fact that a bunch of similar applications appeared in the app store, in which not a drop of heart and effort was invested. At the same time, the number of such applications and developers is growing rapidly.

Aside from their gaudy watch faces, what do all these developers have in common? That they use the KiezelPay payment system. For this, there is a separate group in Discord, where their curator gives advice on how to sell and what to do to increase your profit.

The developers release a large number of empty updates for their applications and winds up reviews from a large number of their devices. Obviously, all of his applications do not carry any aesthetic or unique meaning, and the developers are trying to sell it for real money. I am not satisfied with the fact that his applications are constantly shown in the list of popular ones, but we understand that this is only because they have given their applications a large number of positive reviews from their accounts. Please consider blocking these developers or limiting their stay in popular applications.

Thank you for attention! And please express your opinion. It seems to me that now a global problem is being born for the entire Garmin ecosystem, which does not pay attention to such developers and does not try to improve the app's rating and ranking system.

In its current form, the top section should not be called "Trending Apps" but "Apps that have a lot of reviews recently, regardless of the rating in the review".…

I really hope you're right. If they could fix those cheated reviews, I will be very happy and motivated again to create more quality apps, widgets and clocks.

Fake ratings are a well known problem for all online shops, e.g. Amazon, .... You can cheaply buy fake 5-star-reviews, but it's not possible to prove it or even prevent it.

It's like spam, it can't be fixed globally. So, sadly there is no other way, but to live with this.

I'm not gonna live with this. All those online shops which you have mentioned are banning the shops (the developers in our case) who was noticed in spamming. I'm gonna make Garmin to block them and rebuild the "Trending Apps" section. You can sit back, or you can make at least something better in life.

I think that the Store from Garmin is not so big that it could not be moderated. We have here a sport watch and what do we have as most rated extensions? Stupid watch face without anything interesting for sport practices.

I would prefer a real shop with a review of good 3rd party apps rather than having a lot of *** app.

The fake ratings have been annoying me too, I used to like to visit the store but can't say this is still true.

Banning abusive accounts seems like a worthwhile suggestion to consider.

Replacing trending apps by new and updated apps might be another option

The developers from yesterday, were replaced by other developers that seem to use the same bugs:

Garmin clearly needs to fix this issue.

To be fair: 180,000 downloads for 1,000 reviews is not only plausible but likely. At 180,000 downloads, s/he must be doing something right! And having lots of good ratings is also not suspicious if the apps are things people genuinely like. Equally, it's not necessarily a problem for people to appear regularly in the trending section.

But when things like the Zombie get 1 in 5 downloads resulting in an anonymous, five star review, that is suspicious, especially for a comparatively tiny number of downloads.

Which is probably why this kinda stuff is so difficult to police.

And what's wrong with my app? You can see 6 pages of reviews with comment from real people. There is no any criminal.
