Can anyone suggest a good BLE example to use with Nordic Thingy or DK and latest 3.1.8 SDK and Simulator

Hi All,

I have been struggling to get past the Scan for device stage for the last week using our custom peripheral. Been discovering my device; but unable to pair.

So I have just taken delivery of Nordic Thingy and was hoping to run some standard Garmin Connect IQ app in the simulator to see all working.

Appears to be an example in the SDK folder for a thingy52 app. I run this up in the simulator as a fenix 5S one of the devices offered by simulator for a 3.1.x sdk.
Example seems to want to use a touch screen device; which device was this thingy52 app aimed at?

If anyone could suggest any BLE examples I can try using the simulator that would be great. I have various Nordic dev kits and the thingy here as peripheral devices.

The sample in the SDK works. The f5s doesn't support CIQ BLE - the f5s+ does - both in the sim as well as on a real device. Make sure you have a device that supports CIQ BLE - not all 3.1 devices do. With the sim, you need either the nRF52-DK or the dongle and need to flash them. And set the BLE config in the sim.

Here's a bog post about interfacing to a raspberry pi if that helps. To run the code, you do need a pi though.

does that app of yours proceed beyond connect to pair?

Can you publish the source; so I can try and run in sim?

BleScan just scans and provides a simple way to see scan results.

if you have the Thingy52, and eithet the nRF52-DK or the dongle, that should work just fine. The thingy does have to be awake (it sleeps after a few minutes if nothing is connected to it)

In have got the thingy52 example running in simulator configured to edge 830; just had t resize some icons to get it to run. So at least I know it can work.

Many thanks for that. I have been hacking thingy52 app; which is working. But quite hard to follow as seems to be over-complicated oo playground; all hidden in models, views factories. I only just spotted your reply. Many thanks.
