App Store Update!

We've made some updates to the app store! See the developer blog for details.

  • Nice!
When can we expect to see stats?

Mine still are empty? At what frequency will it be updated? Daily and at what time? Or hourly, or ...?
  • In the "new and Updated" section (there are 18 pages worth for the VA, so I assume that's everything for the va, with the newest as the first on the list), might it make sense to note which ones are watch-apps vs widgets vs watchfaces vs dfs? It might make it a bit easier, especially in the case where someone has an app and widget for the same thing - likes "note2watch" that has both a widget and app.

As this is a combined list of all 4 types of apps, it would be nice to be able to tell the "type" easily.

In the app description page of your app, it should have a new tab "Statistics" next to reviews. This only appears if you are logged in.

  • super!! Definitely a step in the right direction.
Is there any capability to determine also the % of users coming from which watch? For apps which are bundled for all watches.
  • I just posted an update to my project and the statistics reset to zero. Is it expected that all history is not show but only stats for the current version?

I second this request. This is a great start though.

I think it would be great if I could see, how many downloads the app had in genral, how many updates were made from any version and how many new downloads one version has. Additionally I would like to see what watch types were used (in percentages) and where the users come from (or perhaps the languages used on the devices in percentages).

One question to the current version: Does an update from a user with one of the previous versions count as a new download?
  • Only completely new downloads count as a new download--not updates.

    Thanks for that information!

Another question. Are the statistics numbers updated if anybody deinstalls the application? What I see is that numbers from the past change. For example, there is a download count of 115 for wednesday, 114 for thursday and 45 for today when I check it at morning. But in the afternoon it says 112 for wednesday and 113 for thursday. What does that mean?
