Reasons for an IQ Store app to be rejected after review

Hello everyone,

I uploaded a new widget I made on the Connect IQ Store 2 days ago, and I just saw it has been rejected. However, I can't find the reasons for this and even after reading again the "App Review Guidelines" I can't figure out what was wrong about my widget. FYI, it's a widget which generates QR codes from the watch to control GoPro cameras.

Anyone knows where can I find more information about why my app was rejected ?

Have a nice day!

  • No nothing is ambiguous... I uploaded a new version of the app rn, I'll see if it's rejected again. And in that case I'll probably have to contact the support I guess

  • It would be interesting to see if now it's going to be approved. I'd be surprised if yes, but maybe it's down to the decision of the employee who looks at it. I've had some customer service agents totally not friendly, and 10 minutes later another agent helped. So who knows.

Anyway, I don't understand why Garmin don't give a reason. I think it's wasting everyone's time, because eventually people will do all sorts of things, like uploading the same app again and again, wasting time of the next employee, or will send an email and then someone will have to go and find out what was the reason and write it down anyway. Or do they think people will just give up?

  • Well, I thought about it but I already have an app uploaded for a while now that has GoPro in the title (it was controlling a camera over BLE, and this one is with QR codes), and there was no problem. Anyway, there is already a bunch of apps on the CIQ Store using GoPro in their title so I don't see why this one would be rejected.

  • But it also depends on when they were approved. If it's "long ago" then the rules were less strict. But I wouldn't be surprised if it's really mainly down to luck - who looks at your app.
