Fees should be included in the sales report

Currently only the developer share is included in the sales report. For proper tax filing the transaction fees are a necessity.

Tried contacting [email protected] several times but keep getting ignored.

  • FYI:

I have requested this function 3 month ago. I received a manual report from a Garmin employee including taxes, garmin share, developer share and total which was just what I was looking for. I was told they will incorporate the data into the standard report.

Obviously it has not been added to the report.

It's quite tedious to have to chase Garmin support over and over again about something like this. It should be clear that this information is necessary for a merchant.

  • +1 - was just asking the same question of them via the same email address (somehow deleted this same comment I made earlier)

  • Yep, I noticed it as well. I tried responding to your comment and got an error. Refreshed the page and your comment was gone. Where is the forum to post bugs related to the bug forum? ;-)

  • Let's not go there :D

  • For taxes the sales report is useless. For me it still does not correspond with the actual numbers being payed.

You think you're joking but it exists:

Developer > Connect IQ > Forum About The Forum

    https://forums.garmin.com/developer/connect-iq/f/forum-about-the-forum

The forum started having issues about 6 months ago, and a large number of users, including normie non-devs, were affected. They resolved most of the issues for normies, and the remaining issues mostly affect devs (due to the complexity/length of our posts), so it seems that Garmin isn't willing or able to resolve the rest of them.

(Yes I realize Garmin didn't develop this forum platform, but they did choose it, even though some users begged them to use a more modern platform like Discourse or NodeBB, a few years back when they migrated platforms. At this point, both of those platforms are like 10 years old, but still 100X better than this platform, which doesn't even have proper support for emojis. Also, some of the issues seem to be related to cloudflare security measures, and not the forum platform itself.)

  • Manuel, guessing from your name: Are you based in Germany, too? What you write is true (at least in most parts of Europe). And not just the transaction fess but also the sales tax that Garmin directed to the receiving country's administration. I sent several emails on this to Garmin starting October last year - never received an answer. The "Tax Documents" section in the Merchant Account has always been in-active.

I think the way to go is to generate monthly invoices matching to the payments we receive from Garmin and address those to Garmin Europe and Garmin International. The important part is to mention that the "Reverse Charge Procedure" applies. This makes the seller (Garmin) responsible to pay the correct sales tax to the authorities. This procedure is only possible in B2B relations, which works as long as you run an official business.
