Merchant account, numbers don't add up, payments not specified

I'm feeling n00b. Very.

When I calculate installs from device percentages, I get more installs on some products than reports tell me. However, when I change the period in the 1980ish stats view, it even gets worse, so I guess it's best not to trust them.

Now I received my first payment, but numbers don't add up to the sales report. It's not possible to add sales till one date to get to the number that has been payed. There isn't even a payment specification? That's not how I used to be treated for a payed subscription :/ .

Am I missing something?

  • I just got my frst payment I think, because today I just had 2 payments into my bank from Adyen BV, for roughly what I was expecting when I add them together.  The whole click here to view statement, that actually requires about 10 clicks to download etc., CSV file is a pretty raw report and feels like a quickly put together bare bones report by someone with a WIn95 PC.  I have had no further communication from Garmin since I had an email saying I was approved through the Ayden Boarding (I think it was) almost 2 months ago.

Maybe to have to sign up to a monthly recurring fee to get the reports in a 21st century way.

  • Sales on the sales report won't perfectly align with installs within a date range because there's a 48-hour return period allowed to customers before payment is fully captured. If customers return the app, of course, that could cause further discrepancy.

  • I already took that in account. Here is some simple stats of one of my watchfaces. With regard to the devices stats, the smallest number representing a single device would be at represented by at most 14,29/2 %. So the total number of installs would be 100/(14,29/2)=13 devices. In the summary it states 1+ installs and in the salesreport it has been solled 6 times and there have been no returns. I guess the device stats are wrong.

  • Another sample, in the device stats there are 100/1,3 % installs, with regard to the non free version at 78% that would make ~60 installs that have been payed for. In the salesreport are only 15 and no returns.

  • This was discussed a few times. But regardless 1+ means 1<=d<10 which seems to be the right range if the actual number is 6

  • The problem is I don't know which number is correct. And if 6 is correct, the dashboard stats fail. For me it is not a discussion, it is trying to tell something is wrong... And at the end the actual payments don't match any numbers. Imho that can't be.

  • Understand there are two different download counts.  The one everyone sees (the 1+ here) are unique downloads - if the same user installs the app on a 2nd device, that doesn't increase.  Or if the user gets 5 updates, it doesn't increase.  It's how many times the app has been purchased in this case (and some could have asked for refunds).  It would be nice if the unique downloads wasn't rounded or if the dev at least could see the actual (unrounded) number of unique downloads

In stats you see total downloads, so if the same user installs on two devices, that's reflected, same if the user gets 5 updates

  • I have asked if we could add the total unique installs to the developer dashboard (imo we have a LOT of room for improvement to the metrics on the dashboard), but I don't see any work on that ticket yet.
