Corrupt FIT file - The following error occurred: Unexpected end of file while parsing Name has occurred. Line 151558, position 9.

I need help with a corrupt file.

Data shown in 'All Rides' in the Garmin 510 edge head unit but fails to sync.

Tried to repair using http://garmin.kiesewetter.nl/ but gives an error message as follows - Upload status: The file could not be uploaded. The following error occured: Unexpected end of file while parsing Name has occurred. Line 151558, position 9.

PLEASE HELP

Timestamp out of chronological order.

Repaired using Fit File Repair Tool.

The 245 is not normally an issue, but I would start with removing all files in the \GARMIN\ACTIVTY folder regardless of what it says is available, especially if you have chronic corrupt file issues.

Not much there with only 1 KB in size. Was this accidentally deleted and recovered? If you have any other fit files around that same time in the \GARMIN\ACTIVTITY folder, there is a chance these are also partial files which could be pieced together to make a whole activity.

The file is 91KB actually when I recovered and when zipped using 7zip the zipped file was 51KB. Perhaps the upload failed earlier.

I have re-uploaded the file. Can you please check again now?

Yes Sir. This was recorded using Strava app and I have tried a lot of things over the last 2 days and failed to fix the data issue. I tried getting help from Strava support and they suggested using fit file tools site to fix the bad data but that didnt help. I found that you had helped several users with this particular error and tried asking if Strava support if they can help fix the problem and they suggested checking in garmin forums itself for troubleshooting this particular bad data issue. Hence requesting your help.

Was there a Garmin device used to record the activity?

Seeing several different dates. Which is correct? Many timestamps are duplicated.

No sir. Garmin device was not used. Only recorded with Strava app on phone. The activity happened on 26th May. Something has gone wrong with the dates. 18th May is incorrect. Kindly help fix the dates. Thanks for your kind help.

I was able to repair it so it is at least accepted by both Garmin Connect and Strava - 9505125-fixed.fit

If you're still missing distance, it is probably lost due to the corruption.

Grateful for your help Sir and many thanks. Yes the distance is only half but thanks to your efforts, now I have an activity to show for 26th May so that I can now maintain the now 3 months daily ride streak
