Sync problems: Training calendar runs don't show up, workouts don't sync at all

For the past few weeks I've been unable to get my training plan from Garmin Connect to show up correctly on my Forerunner 235. When I navigate on the watch to "Training Calendar", it says to download your training calendar from Garmin Connect. I've tried this a gazillion times. I've wiped the entire watch back to factory settings multiple times, I've canceled and deleted my training plans and restarted with a different plan... without fail, none of the workouts show up in the training calendar on the watch. They are, however, hiding in the workouts section.

I've also discovered that new workouts that I make online with Garmin Connect aren't being synced. I've specifically gone into the app, selected the individual workout, sent it to the device, and Garmin Connect says it worked, the watch shows a transfer successfully finishes... no new workouts.

Anyone else having similar issues? And any idea how to fix it? I'm getting frustrated, the calendar view on the watch is key to keeping me on track.
  • I'm having this issue now.. My Training Calendar will not sync to my Fenix 5 Plus... So very frustrating!!

  • This is still happening, tried restarting, creating new workouts, manually syncing, still nothing showing on my 935? 6 months is an unacceptable long time to wait for a fix

  • What is "soon"? My forerunner trainingbuddy is useless now...

  • Did you solve the issue? I can't sync a training into my vivoactiv 3

  • I have the exact same issue on my Vivoactive 3! Any updates on the timing to fix it? It is very annoying I am not able to see any of the activities I've scheduled through Garmin Connect on my watch

  • I’m joining the group of irate people about the sync issues. Finally managed to sync calendar with watch (fr935) but workouts forget it. To add insult to injury the watch now also stop showing pace & speed after 2-3 km. I tied cleanup (restore default settings) on the watch with massive effort and some fairy dust managed to in-install connect from my mobile and re-install... premium price for premium issues that seems to be ignored by Garmin.

  • Same issue with my Fenix 5

  • Same issue with Forerunner 630.  It was working up until a week ago.  New workout syched over to the watch on the Friday but when I tried to do another one on the Saturday absolutely nothing.  I have deleted the app, reinstalled it, unpaired the watch and re-paired it.  I even upgraded my mobile phone as when I reinstalled the app it said no longer compatible!!  This is not acceptable, very frustrating to have an expensive watch that I can't use the features I want to.  This has obviously been going on for some while and I'm guess it's only recently affected me but soon is not 6 months.

  • So I take it Garmin has given up trying to fix the issue, as it is still persistent a half year later?  Garmin used to be my go-to tech, but whatever is going on there with software over the last year has me looking elsewhere.  Does anyone have any suggestions for alternatives that actually work?

  • So Garmin seems like they have given up BUT a quick fix is go into the activity and edit it by adding a cool down or something, Then it will tick your watch into synching the training calendar
