Sync problems: Training calendar runs don't show up, workouts don't sync at all

For the past few weeks I've been unable to get my training plan from Garmin Connect to show up correctly on my Forerunner 235. When I navigate on the watch to "Training Calendar", it says to download your training calendar from Garmin Connect. I've tried this a gazillion times. I've wiped the entire watch back to factory settings multiple times, I've canceled and deleted my training plans and restarted with a different plan... without fail, none of the workouts show up in the training calendar on the watch. They are, however, hiding in the workouts section.

I've also discovered that new workouts that I make online with Garmin Connect aren't being synced. I've specifically gone into the app, selected the individual workout, sent it to the device, and Garmin Connect says it worked, the watch shows a transfer successfully finishes... no new workouts.

Anyone else having similar issues? And any idea how to fix it? I'm getting frustrated, the calendar view on the watch is key to keeping me on track.
  • I had started a half marathon training two weeks ago and everything has been working well until today. Today I'm supposed to do an easy run of 45 min but there's no workout on my watch (FR225). The one for tomorrow is correct though. Somehow today's workout was just never added to my watch but it shows up both in-app and on website. I'm rolling my eyes...

  • As annoying as it is, I've found that my Garmin Forerunner 235 doesn't seem to have enough space to contain an entire running plan/calendar and that I've found it to work better if some of the older data is uploaded/cleared from my watch first to create enough room. Another annoying thing is that it doesn't show up in my "completed training plans" but I know I ran it. It's a bit glitchy but I've found that over time, clearing older workouts from the watch means enough space for remaining workouts on some of the longer plans like the 10k and half marathon plans.

  • Update: As suggested by one of the post, I added one second to tomorrow’s schedule run on my Garmin app and synced again. Now the workouts for the rest of this week show up in the training calendar my watch. I’ll try to sync as infrequently as possible from now on....

  • Over a year ago this was posted and still my training calendar will not download to my Fenix 5x

  • So where's the fix? Issue still happening

  • I do, but it's not working for me, so it's not official fix

Who cares whether it is official or not. If editing or rescheduling, as suggested in this thread, does not work, then you either have sync problems, or no room left on the device. In the first case try the Sync / Connection Troubleshooting Guide, in the second case clean up the folder //GARMIN/Activity on the device.

  • Who cares? Maybe those who have been struggling with this for months, not having any support from garmin, and not finding helpful ur solution?

  • Like already posted here: add 1 second to any day of your schedule (on pc), save and sync again. Works fine! Don't rely on Garmin support, because it does not exist... That is very sad because Garmin makes nice watches.
