I'm having the exact same problem. Fenix 3 hr and Garmin Connect detect the PR initially. Then if I edit anything (e.g. change the name), it gets wiped from GC (both browser and the app), but stays on my Fenix.

Garmin customer support have been very unhelpful so far, sending me copy + paste of troubleshooting without actually acknowledging this bug. Helpfully suggested it might be because "Certain Activity Types, such as Casual Walking, do not support PR.". Seriously. I think I know the difference between when I'm running my lungs out to set a PR vs. when I'm casually walking.

They also suggested manually assigning as others have suggested here, but that seems to defeat the purpose of Garmin Connect picking up PRs automatically.

    Facing the same issue

I wonder, when so many users have complained about the issue, why are they taking so much time to do something about it.

Manually re-loading the activity defeats the very purpose of automation.
  • I found the solution just 30sec after posting my complaint!

    1. I clicked on activities and got the list of all my activities.
    2. I checked today's race and clicked the button ASSIGN PR
    3. I checked the right PR category
    4. done :)

    enjoy!

    THANK YOU! Works perfectly!

Talking about it here is not the same as reporting the issue as a customer to the Garmin's Product Support team. How many fault reports have been submitted? I don't think you know, and the number of people talking about the issue in this forum is not a reliable or scientific estimate.

I agree. So don't do it if you don't want to. You know there's a fault. Work around it, avoid it, live with it, report it… it's your choice whether to do any or all of the above.

Thanks for advice. My Forerunner 235 developed same issue and hunting through the forum I found this suggestion. It worked so I'm happy.

A pity that Garmin hasn't fixed this after all this time. My records appeared to be updating and showing in Connect until end of October ( I only purchased in Sep 16) and problem only appeared mid November. I'll log a report but thanks again for workaround
  • This error is still not fixed.... :(

    No prs in swimming

I swim several times a week for the last 3 months. I have one pr for max distance and no other swimming related prs. My max distance should have updated about 4 or 5 times. Any idea when the pr feature will once again work for swimming? (My running prs appear to be ok)
  • I found a fix until Garmin resolves

In the upper right hand corner of the record activity page, hit the gear button, "export original" .fit file to your desktop. Then delete the activity from Connect. Then on the little person icon on the far left, import data, put that .fit file in the box. Hit import. Now all your personal records for that activity will show back up. ie.. 1K, 1mile, 5K, etc. Once you do this, do not edit ANYTHING on the activity. The records will stay put. You will not be able to edit anything on this activity until Garmin fixes the issue, but at least your records stay there. Maybe this new update 9.10 today fixed it, I don't know, haven't tested it yet. Just tested 9.10, not fixed, still can't edit anything and have all records retained.

There is no fix from Garmin...
  • It looks like this might be fixed.

I set a longest run record, then edited the title and gear and the record stayed. Hopefully, everyone else is also experiencing some success with this.
