Edge 810 wont sync via Bluetooth

I get "upload failed" message on my edge

What I've tried so far
Removed all activities from edge
Factory reset the edge
updated firmware to beta on the edge
removed/forget devices from phone & edge settings
removed ios app
rebooted phone
rebooted garmin
re downloaded app
changed password
tryed to sync on PC with Garmin Express
I note there was an IOS app update last night - still wont work

please help me not to have to use a cable

I have had same problem since friday and I think coinciding with latest garmin connect update. I tried all the on and offs, reinstalling garmin connect, bluetooth permissions etc. But still same result of sync failed.

and annoyingly all the on and off of the 810 has broken the on/off switch!

My 810 also stopped uploading this last week. Upload failed message every time. Have tried everything

We are aware of the issue with the Edge 510/810 and not syncing. We are working on a resolution and I will provide an update when one is available. The current workaround is to sync with Garmin Express. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Thanks, how long is this likely to take? I don't have access to a pc to use garmin express.

The Garmin Express workaround is no help if, as always seems to happen after a while, the Garmin refuses to connect to a PC (even in mass storage mode)...!
