Garmin Connect does not sync weight anymore with Apple Health

Hi,

I have just noted that since 29th of October Garmin Connect doesn’t sync weight anymore with Apple Health. I use always the most recent iOS version of Garmin Connect.

Does anyone else have the same problem and/or a solution?

Hope so,

David

  • I spoke too soon. After working for 7 days it has stopped working again and hasn't synced my weight since 28th December.

  • Hello all,

Just wanted to update everyone that we are still investigating this but hope to be releasing an update soon after we are able to confirm a working fix that addresses this disruption.  I do not have a specific date for this release, but hope to have more information for you all soon.

  • Hello, as a non Garmin user I wanted to let you know I have the same problem with my Beurer weight scale. The data is there, Apple health gets the data from an older date, around September October 2022.

  • Now it works for me. Garmin support says to me, that it will not work with only weight. I tried it and get my old Venu out of the cellar. And now it works. You need an extra device like a watch to sync weight from index or other. Very weird.

  • Hello Support, I just noticed I am having the same issue after replacing my Garmin VivoActive 4 with an apple watch (so now use apple health not the garmin app to track everything). Soon as I deleted the watch from my garmin app and just had the smart scales on it stopped syncing with Apple Health:

    • Index S2
    • 28th Dec (when I removed the garmin watch from the garmin app)
    • 27th Dec
    • Yes
    • Yes
    • UK

This would be amazing if you can get this working again, I work in app support so know how annoying it is when a feature a lot of customers rely on stops working. Looking forward to the update :) Hopefully you can get this sorted and we can all stop manually having to input our weights daily :)

  • Hi, was this ever solved?  I was told that Connect will sync with Health every time that it Syncs with a garmin fitness tracker. Unfortunately I don’t have a tracker/watch, I only have the Smart Scale. Not sure if that means that Connect will not send the info to Health

  • I don’t have a Garmin fitness tracker any longer either, but it was never adverstised that this device needed a fitness tracker to sync with Apple Health, so I hope this is not the reason

  • I assume this is just a bit of a bug, don't fret all they will be on it :D It can take a bit of time for devs to figure out what is going on and get a bug patch out to fix it especially when they will need to go through extensive testing to make sure said patch does not break anything else etc.

They have responded saying they are looking into it so a fix will be out soon, but yea would rather wait for another month or so and get a propper update out which passes their testing than have an update now which is not fully tested and may only work on some versions of apps / apple software versions etc.

They need to get this right so they will let us know once they have sorted it and the update is out :D

(PS I don't work for Garmin but I am an Application Support engineer for a large piece of DevOps software which has many integrations so I know how these things work) :D

  • appreciate the new year optimism. I also work in Software and this is a very basic feature. Modern app/dev teams would have released a fix in hours. Every company is a software company, and those that don't modernize will become extinct.
