text message notifications not coming through after iOS 13 update

Just updated my software to iOS 13.0 and now my FR635 will not alert me of text notifications. When I receive a text my FR635 does not buzz or even show that I have a notification. When I receive notifications from other apps (twitter, groupme, etc) my FR635 will not buzz but with show them on my notifications widget. The only thing my FR635 will do still is buzz for incoming calls. 

I saw other people with similar problems and tried going to settings -> notifications -> connect -> show previews -> always, but this did nothing for me. I still do not get notifications for texts at all or any vibrations for all other notifications (besides phone calls). I have phone notification alerts set to vibration for both during an activity and not during an activity through the Garmin app.

    Thank you Blake. I have tried all suggestions and power cycled. Setting are all on always etc. Vivoactive hr continues with this issue

    Same with my Vivoactive 3 music.  I have tried everything and still NO messages!!!!

    I had the same problem, and ended up deleting the app, forgetting my devices on the iPhone, and then reinstalling and repairing.. Everything works just fine now.

    I did the same, reinstalled the connect app on my iPhone and reset my vivosmart. It started working again!!!!

    So like most people I don't like my message previews showing up on my locked screen or even my unlocked screen. Tried several things, like turning off the bluetooth on my phone and on my watch, power cycling each, etc. but what I did find ultimately that when you go to the bluetooth settings on your phone and see what devices you have connected to in the past and what you are currently connected to. I went to my fenix 3 HR connection and hit the blue info tab and and saw that the "Share System Notification" was turned off. I turned it on and everything started working like normal and started receiving notifications.

    Just go to your bluetooth settings on your phone and find your garmin device that is connected and tap the blue Info icon and then turn on "Share System Notification". Looks like IOS 13 turned it off. this fixed mine immediately and I didn't have to turn on message previews or anything.

    I agree! I don't want my messages showing up on my home screen. I hope a fix is coming for this fast!

    It is a fix only if you want your messages showing up on the home screen of your phone. Garmin, you need to come up with a fix that has it without that, like it was before the new update-please.
