Film Testing Aug - Sep 2025

Hi all

its been a while, I hope you are all enjoying the summer & have got some great real world cycling in!

There is a new feature being added to the TacxApps that should be something much larger then the sum of its parts. In any case for now on our side you will notice oddly named stages with some very short ones often only a few kilometers long or less.  Please test these if you can! I expect someone from Tacx will, at some point, explain what's going on when the time is right to test.

We have filmed some stunning new locations: the rugged west coast of Ireland, the rolling Morvan hills, a revamped Alpine Tour with a refilmed Colle delle Finestre (on both gravel sides!), the picturesque Barolo vineyards in Italy, and a two-part ride through the Luberon in southern Provence. The ride library is absolutely stacked again! Some of these routes will have multiple stages and cover serious distance, so there’s plenty to explore.

To kick things off, I’m publishing a mix of regular stage-based rides, some of which will let you test the new feature once it’s live. You’ll spot these in the app—they’ll have a “J” in the version number. So, keep an eye out

  • Thanks for the map! When each part of the road is separate - it's hard to put together a complete picture in my head)
    Good weather and good roads!

A map is vital for this thing to work, which makes me a bit nervous if you have ever seen the now completely forgotten TacxWorld map https://worldmap-beta.tacxtraining.com (looks like the various stages are now on it) or managed to dig up the rather hidden maps of Garmin Connect.  Then again, without a map, customers will soon find themselves doing laps of the same roads over & over...it would have been fun to see where they all turn up & go!

As you can see the new heat map reaches out to the 3 stage Nivernais Canal ride, I would like to link to these also so if you have enough of the park you can head to the north of the national park. It might be an idea to now start filming during the next return trip (if we go) from the northern end of the canal SE & thus link it all up so its all never ending? Kind of limitless possibilities now route-building-wise.

  • Yes, without a map we will go in round.
I already thought that it would be good to have a map in front of my eyes during the trip and mark the route taken. Or plan the route.
