The battery drains rapidly since the update. From previous version to 7.8...the battery would last 6-7 days, now it is drained in less than 12 hours. Doesn't seem like a hardware problem, can I load the 7.70 software?

be nice if Garmin Support would at least acknowledge problem.
Please stop giving canned answers.
What I've tried:
1) Factory reset (10 times). No watchfaces or any other CIQ apps. Same problem.
2) Full discharge and full charge leaving the cable connected for…
Hi, I am not a twitter Guy, but this is the kind of issues that should hit twitter
please contact Garmin support and insist on replacement and refer to this forum. I and some others here in the Forum got a new VA3. Support offered me a new one without any discussion needed.
I have the same problem with mine since the 7.80 update. I have found out that when I charge it and unplug it the battery will drop fast. Then I plug it back in and afer it has been at 100% for about 30 minutes I unplug it and power it down. Then wait a minute and turn it back on. Then I get it back to normal and get 5 tob7 days depending on my gps use. I hope they get a fix soon because this is a pain.
Had the same problem. None of the fixes worked as previous posters have said. Garmin Support have offered a “newly overhauled device” for a cost of £96.59 but as my device is out of warranty the NOH device only comes with 90 day warranty. My concern is paying another £96 and in 4 months the same battery drain happens. I’m going to buy new from another brand. Shame, I really liked my Vivoactive.
No fixes work for me either. It is pretty clear r that this problem started for everyone when 7.80 rolled out. Which strongly suggests it's a problem with the firmware. Which strongly suggests our watches do not need refurbs (I do not believe everyone's batteries died on the same day). So I expect the offer to 'fix' your watch for 100 pounds is a bit of a red herring. I have come across people who still have this problem after refurb or buying a new VA3. Garmin needs a better 'solution'
I am quite sure that this battery drain issue happened only to a small number of VA3 watches. And this is why Garmin won't fix this!!!
German support (I am from Austria) sent me a new VA3 instantly, when i contacted them. My watch was over 3 years old and heavily used. They didn't care, so I guess replacement is cheaper for Garmin than developing a bugfix for only a few watches.
But it seems that Garmin deals with this problem in different ways in different countries and that doesn't reflect well on Garmin.
got my replacement a little over a week ago and only charged once so far. 3 days in and still at 43%. SW version also 7.80
