More Battery Issues

So ive had my vivoactive for some time, ive had my share of update related battery life issues :https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/healthandwellness/f/vivoactive-3-3-music/150332/battery-life-after-update

About 1 wk ago I experienced a system freeze in the middle of the night requiring a reset, charge was very low so i plugged it in and have experienced the worst battery life to date now down to barely over 1 day. I have not had trouble in months with upwards of a week prior to last week. I'm on 7.4 and cant say for sure when i updated to this version since the only time i look if when i run into sudden battery related issues. My use case has not changed since ive been using my watch, primarily use for 24/7 HR tracking and almost all widgets turned off and nothing added from connect iq, watch face is a simple default picked to minimize battery drain.

  • I have the same issue - charged the watch yesterday afternoon and when I woke up around 2.30am it was completely dead. 100% to nothing in 10 hours. Charged again this morning but it has already dropped to 94% in 30 mins.

Hello! Is the watch up to date? If not, please make sure to sync with Garmin Express on your computer. If so, please perform a factory reset on the device (Menu > Select Settings > System > Restore Defaults > Yes), charge the watch to 100%, and see how the battery life is. Also, do you have any Connect IQ content downloaded?

  • I have had issues with the battery drain for some time now. I have ignored it for as long as the battery lasted at least 2 days and was hoping for the issue to be resolved in a next update. However, for a month now, the battery lasts for half a day only (without GPS usage). I have tried factory resetting, beta updates, ... Data from garmin/debug/usage:

Okay, I would like to get this resolved for you. Are you in the US or Canada?

  • Hi. No, I am from Slovenia, Europe.

  • I have contacted them and they propose that I pay a fee of 150 € and get a replacement. Obviously, I find this kind of attitude towards customers unacceptable. However, I am still trying not to believe that a Garmin product is worthless after less than 3 years. But I am losing confidence...

  • I have the same issue as discribed in this topic, 2 weeks ago the battery went down from 3 days at a charge to one (SW 7.4). I contacted the support in EU (NL) and did the factory reset and SW updates, did not help. I'm now asking for a battery replace, but I did not get a reaction on that. Alternative solutions are welcome.

  • I would also like to know why Garmin support in EU performs so much worse than the one in the USA. As stated before, an offer of replacement for a fee of 150 € (+both ways shipping costs), while current online retail price for a new unit is also 150 €, is a polite way to say you simply do not care.

We apologize that EU is not able to offer a better option. Unfortunately, with us being in the US we can not go through options. You will have to go through Garmin EU to get this resolved.
