Puzzle with creating custom watch faces...

In the watch, I can easily create a watch face with one of the default backgrounds that includes the data I want. e.g. HR, body battery, and watch battery.

In Garmin IQ, I can easily create a watch face with a custom background. However, I'm very limited in the data I can chose from. The only options seem to be day of month and watch battery.

Is there any good and easy way to create a watch face with a custom background and the data I want?

With Connect IQ, some data isn't available (more is coming in "system 5" devices), but as far as things like background, there are man options. Look ate the CIQ developer forum: https://forums.garmin.com/developer/connect-iq/

As of right now, I'm not doing any programming.

Just using "Face It" in ConnectIQ I can get the data I want, but sadly not a custom image.

Hi, With the SQ and the 2S you can do this so should be able to also with Venu create a custom watch face using the watch face function on the watch itself and add in those data fields. Long press B button, watch face, scroll to the right until you see “create custom”. Press the + button and depending on the analog or digital clock hands I choose can add 2 or 4 data fields. There is a + sign in each data field where you can scroll through all of the available functions including HR, body battery and watch battery.

But... if I do it this way, I can only use Garmin's default background images, right?

Unless I'm missing something I cannot find a way to use my own custom image with these fields.

Yes I think in that regard you’re right. There are tons of watch faces on the IQ store though with the data you want, just not custom images. Too bad you can’t add data fields in the face it app. You can move the fields all around so I wouldn’t think it would be hard for them to allow addition of data fields.
