Right Sensor Missing

Hello!

Does anyone know what can generate this message "right sensor missing"?

Occurred with my Vector3 during use. Just the 8th training with my Vector3.

My workout ran out of energy information on my right leg for several minutes (45').
  • I have had it 3-5 times with Edge 1030. I just spin the pedals once again and problem gone.
  • Analyzing a new file... I lost the information of "right platform center offset" and "power phase: start" / "power phase: end".

Power and L/R Balance are OK.

    Very strange!!!
  • My problem has increased.

I'm very annoyed with my vector3. And also with missing garmin support.

I'd like some help from Garmin. Please.

I want to throw the right pedal in the trash.
  • I have exactly the same problem which only started after I put in new batteries.
    Random right pedal missing warnings
    Right PCO randomly reading zero.
I reset the right pedal by removing, waiting and replacing battery cover. Went for a ride this morning, no right pedal missing warnings but right PCO stopped working altogether halfway through ride.
Plan to try resetting everything and starting afresh to see if that will sort it.

I reset my 1030 edge and vector 3 today.

Again ... right sensor missing after 3 minutes of training.

I don't know what else to do.

The problem might be due to damage to the battery door. On each side of the battery door the electrical strips that run vertically are partially covered by some clear tape. This is hard to see. If the tape has gotten removed then it is possible that the batteries are shorting.

You can try a couple of different things.
One is to switch the battery doors around. If communication between the pedals and the head unit then drops out you know the problem is with the battery door.
The second thing you can is take both batteries out of the battery door. Stack them on top of each other and wrap some electrical tape around the the sides and then put the batteries back in the door. This will prevent any shorting with the vertical conductor strips.

Thanks for the technical support. The tape is in place

I changed the position of the battery door. But I still get the message of right sensor missing.

Tomorrow I will try to put the electric tape.

I'll let you know if it works.

  • Thanks, I will try this as soon as I get chance.
If indeed your diagnosis is correct I trust Garmin will be providing us with a more sophisticated solution than this sticking plaster approach to sorting our £850 investment.
