Right Sensor Missing

Hello!

Does anyone know what can generate this message "right sensor missing"?

Occurred with my Vector3 during use. Just the 8th training with my Vector3.

My workout ran out of energy information on my right leg for several minutes (45').
  • Thanks, I will try this as soon as I get chance.
If indeed your diagnosis is correct I trust Garmin will be providing us with a more sophisticated solution than this sticking plaster approach to sorting our £850 investment.

Anyway, is a very expensive hardware to have problems. Especially because it seems a design problem.
  • Stack them on top of each other and wrap some electrical tape around the the sides and then put the batteries back in the door. This will prevent any shorting with the vertical conductor strips.

Vector-Info I can use any vinyl insulation tape?
  • Checked out the insulation in the battery door which looks perfectly intact but taped the batteries as advised anyway.
50 mile ride yesterday with no problems. Given the insulation was looking OK I suspect this has more to do with removing the batteries which reset the pedals.
I wonder if there is a correct battery changing sequence i.e. right first or left pedal first?
  • I still have problems. Right sensor continues to lose signal.

    I want another Vector 3!!!
  • vhvalves I reached out to you via PM.

    Shawn-Garmin thanks! I sent a PM.
  • Hi, I have been having a similar issue with my Vector 3 pedals when using the pedals on the turbo with Zwift where the power occasionally drops. The cadence will drop to zero for a second or two and the power will drop to around half of what I was riding at, after a few seconds the numbers will return to normal. However, once this happens once on a ride it then keeps on happening. Sometimes it happens from the beginning of a ride and other times it will not happen until an hour or two in.

I have looked at the files in Training Peaks and you can see the points where the power drops are happening. None of my other ANT+ sensors drop out when the power dropouts happen, so it is unlikely to be a ANT+ drop. I use a Wahoo KICKR trainer and it works perfectly with Zwift with no power drops. I have only used the pedals outside on a couple of rides, on one of the rides I did get messages on my Garmin 1030 that the right pedal could not be found. I think the issue may be with the right side pedal not communicating with the left, or losing signal. I have tried three different sets of batteries. Firmware is up to date.

Hope you can help, I tried contacting the online support centre chat, they had to ask what Zwift was!

    Thanks.

  • We had bad luck with the V3.
Many problems. And no solution for now.
