For a couple months now, the BF% is exactly 7% for me. When I weigh in on our other user it reads accurately.

I've tried reseting it.

Removing it from connect.

taking the batteries out.

reseting again.

NOTHING works.

Garmin support site is a black hole of never ending loops that get you nowhere.

It worked fine - changeing a little every time I weighed. But stayed consistently at where it should've been. I understand the whole BIA thing is not accurate but this is something funky with the software because it worked before.

Any ideas?

I am substantially heavier than you at 97 kilos with a fat% of 25.5%. This is at activity level 5. Using other BIA scales, I get approximately the same result. Interestingly I am 19 kilos heavier than you and have 19% more fat. Coincidence, or is Garmin using a very simple formula to estimate Fat%? But if I change my activity level to 8, my fat percent drops to 17% which I know is wrong (unfortunately). Based on your results the problem seems to be related to weight. But my daughter uses the same scale and is 60 kilos with 27% body fat (activity 5). Again this estimate is in the ball park of other BIA scales (eg InBody). So my daughter weighs less than you with a higher body fat level. So weight may not be the only factor. Of course her profile is different. she is female at 152 cm. I suspect you are male and taller than she is. Apology if my assumption is wrong.

It would be interesting to see what your body fat% is when you change your activity level. Please post your results.

Hi candive01 - fyi - I changed my activity level from 8 to 7 and this has made no difference - BF% stuck on 7%. My weight has fallen slightly over the last few months so BF% hasn't shifted off 7% for several months either. For me the threshold of when BF% starts to vary is around 77kg. Also FYI - I am indeed tall (188 cm) and male!

I just get the index scale and by reading a lot on this topic I found that this might be linked to weight bmi and sex as some users mentioned before ( I am 1.78 and 64 kg male) Because my girlfriend Also uses the scale and the scale displays the information accurately. Also I have never found a case of a woman presenting this issue. I hope this helps for Garmin developers to find and finally solve this bug .

I made the big mistake of ordering this scale because it syncs with GC but I have the same "aways stuck at 7%" issue as others have reported. (I am around 16% in actuality) Nothing I did, including changing the activity numbers via the web portal made any difference. To make matters worse, I ordered a second unit which had the same issue. (That unit cleary had already been returned as it was synced with another account." Both units reported weights that differed by as much as 3 points within the same minute. In total, this is GARBAGE and I find it disgraceful that Garmin continues to sell this product which is clearly defective in the same way. Really too bad because I was looking forward to seeing all m heart data in one place.

Oh well.....back to my Withings scale.

I am a old guy 49 years old male from Sweden. I am 175cm long and have acitivity setting at 6 and in 28 August my stats was 70.2kg and 13.8% fat, the next day 29 august I weighed in at 69.2 kg probably just water loss but gave me 12.6% in bodyfat. Just wondering if it is possible to loose 1.2% fat in 24 hours from 13.8 to 12.6% bodyfat, for me it does not seem to do any biometric reading of my bodyfat, just some calculation from my weight loss from 70.2kg to 69.2kg in 24 hour, but what do I know? My bodyfat was never stucked at like 7% or so it fluctuates at every weigh in and changes when my weight changes.
  • Hi,

I have been a runner for years and relying a lot on Garmin tools. Recently, I have started cycling and I am now doing both, running and cycling.

I was wondering if the health data ( Vo2 Max, Vo2 Max cycling, trainingteffect, recup r
  • Oups,.. was posted too early. Continue.

I was wondering if Garmin health data we're combining both running and cycling for recup time, Vo2Max calculation, etc etc.. or if the 2 sports health data were completely indépenant. From my experience,
  • From my experience, they seem indépendant. Can you clarify ?

    Thank you !
  • Bought it this Friday and wasn't aware what a buggy thing this scale is. Also stuck at 7% BF.
So one more in the club.

edit: took my cat today on the scale with me to reach a higher bmi. At bmi 21 its shows a static value of 10% bf.
  • Hi guys,

took my cat today on the scale with me to reach a higher bmi. At bmi 21 its shows a static value of 10% bf.

    Ahahah gold !
So there is the fix, take your cat with you to get a higher BMI and maybe reach a valuable and usefull body fat data !

    Thanks.
  • Still waiting for a software fix from Garmin as I unfortunately do not own a cat.
