In our internal testing, we have seen the best results by following the steps below to update with Garmin Express.
- Make sure device is disconnected
- Restart computer

After the update to 9.60 the watch was having difficulty synchronizing with the PC via the USB cable and I verified that the time was not correct when set in auto-definition ..... with 9.70 the connection…

Have applied the 9.70 firmware update; seems as if my 735's issues have been fixed and everything seems to be back to normal.

Go outside and start an activity, so the watch has to use GPS. After a GPS fix the time is correct again.

Can anyone tell why every single SW has to be phased rollout except the one fixing problems caused by the phased rollout SW?

After installation of 9.70 the USB connection issue is now ok for me. Will do a run activity today. Thanks!

Actually in Poland is 6:21 AM, but 735xt shows 8:12PM one day earlier...

I have loaded the new 9.70 and everything seems to be working fine. I had even a mock workout to check the GPS.

If you are experiencing problems to load the 9.70 try

1) PC: close Garmin Express

2) switch off the 735XT pressing the light button for a few seconds

3) connect the watch to the PC and wait for it to wake up and be recognised by the PC

4) open Garmin Express and wait for the synchronization

5) If the time is not correct select any activity that requires GPS (i.e. run, bicycle, etc.) and let it synchronise. After the GPS signal is acquired everything should be fine.

I have tried everything and nothing works. Uninstalled, installed Garmin Express and Garmin Connect. Soft reset for the 735XT to no avail. I can´t seem to change to Firmware version 9.70 even though the watch is connected to Garmin Connect. Garmin Express doesn´t recognize the 735 but no issues connecting to Express with the Garmin Edge that I have. Every time I attach the 735 to my laptop the 735 freezes and I need to turn off and on again to unfreeze. And then the time is 2 hours off. And to make things worse now the timer for my activitties doesn´t work :-(. I am getting pretty frustrated now......
