Headphones disconnect when locating GPS

I got the 645 Music about 2 weeks ago and I was having no issues at all until this week. Now whenever I start a run and try to locate GPS it causes the headphones to disconnect. I use the Jabra elite active 65t. Is anyone else experiencing this or something similar?
  • Where is the watch in relation to the headphones? According to the ongoing thread here Some users are complaining of constant dropouts from the Jabra 65t when wearing the 645 on the left wrist.

I wear the watch on my right wrist.

I use Spotify and it works perfectly until about 5 seconds into searching for GPS. But I'm confused because it was working perfectly for me on all my runs before a few days ago. There was no drop outs or anything.
  • Hard to say if you're sure you are not doing anything else differently. You can try resetting the earphones to see if that helps.

I gave that a try and It didn't do anything. I'm guessing it has something to do with a firmware update for the headphones. So now I guess I'll just have to wait for another update for the headphones or a watch update.
  • Your issue is the first one I've seen (maybe I missed it) where the BT disconnect is associated with GPS acquisition. My question would be what else is going on during this? Just starting your run,? Swinging your arms differently? Wearing something different? Who knows? Maybe someone else that has those headphones can chime in.

So on my run today I brought my phone along and connected the headphones to the phone. I turned off bluetooth on the watch to make sure it wasn't causing any issues, and when I started searching for GPS on my watch again it disconnected the headphones from my phone. So my guess is when the watch is searching for GPS it interferes with the bluetooth signal with the headphones.
  • This happened to me with Bose Soundsport, also Stryd and external Garmin HRM dropped out also.
  • Has anyone called Garmin support to report this issue?

I have the same problem with my forerunner 945.

As soon as i go to the activity screen all connections to my headphones will be killed, even between headphones and smartphone.

I dont think its related to gps, because this also occurs before i select an activity or when i select indoor swim (no gps).
