New Edge 820 Firmware 12.50 - any issues?

since the 100% ROLL OUT ...

has anybody some experience about it?

in the change log is nothing to find

regarding battery drain ???

is it solved?

First ride today. Excellent- no dropping of any connections (BT phone, ant+ HR/Power/ Di2).

3:45 mins and 40% battery used (60%remaining). It was steady through the ride at 11% per hour.

To revert to 11.20:

Find and download Edge820_1120.gcd on the http://gawisp.com/perry/edge/ website.

Rename the file to gupdate.gcd and copy it to the Garmin directory on your 820. There likely will already…

Still have to re-pair the BT connection with my phone every few days but apart from that it seems fine.

no problems here. did 2 rides. 40k + 30k. no drops on cadence, speed or power. also ok live tracking.

Yesterday, 1: 45h exercise, HR monitor, cadence sensor and GPS - 100% battery to 65% !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unload until the unit shut down or shows only 1%....then reset (shutdown, hold power until the Logo appears and reboots) ... if it shows more% repeat this procedere until nothing changes. Then recharge full. I had the same issue when coming from 12.40... Now i am back of approx. 10%/hour

Hi everyone,

Just downgraded to 11.20 and... magic! I had my battery life back!

1 hour ride - battery down to 95%, it went down by 5% only!

By the way there's one major drawback annoying me: my Xert data fields are gone, they require a firmware update to work.

I'm quite angry with Garmin, it's too bad to force people upgrading to 830 by a firmware tweak to battery life, come on!

Can you suggest any workaround? My unit is 1.2 years old.

After many months of constant disconnections to my Tacx Neo this version seems stable. It also seems that the battery lasts much longer ... tears are falling.

Rode again today - worked well.

HR/Pwr/Di2/Live track via BT all fine.

Battery just over 10% per hour use. 5hr19mins moving time ( I did have a couple of stops) and 46% remaining at the end. That's the best it's ever been.

Are you riding 12.50? What do you mean by "via BT"? Pwr and Di2 are transmitting via BT?
