Garmin Edge 130 won't start up. It only works when plugged to the USB charger or PC. Ive had the device for less than a year and already tried factory reset

I have the same issue with my Edge 130. Unfortunately it is 15 months old. I tried everything.

Does the power button work when you try to switch it off ?

Yes. All the rest function as normal but when unplugged, it will not turn on.

Yes, when the device is plugged to an USB outlet the device works normally. When it's unplugged it won't turn on

I had the same issue with a tablet. It turned out that it had a dead battery.

So the button itself works (for turning the device off).
Then it is safe to assume you have some sort of software malfunction.
Try to place the GUPDATE.GCD file in the Garmin folder (via usb) on your edge and complete the update (once again).

Don't know if that is any good, but it is of a higher version, so updating should be no problem.
