  • So I've done two rides with the 9.68 beta now. Overall as long as you don't have WiFi & BT on at the same time (which causes the edge to lock up) the build has been pretty stable, with no reboots or power-off's experienced, which is an improvement on previous builds

It looks like the Radar bug has been fixed where a ghost vehicle detection would be displayed right behind you when a new vehicle was detected. Also the workout rename bug I was experiencing seems to be fixed too.

There are however some issues with the beta

    > The Edge Remote bug has reared it's head again. During the ride the remote will randomly disconnect & on resuming from sleep the remote won't connect unless you disable/enable the remote in the sensor settings.

    > The Map display & navigation popups are pretty laggy with this build......

      > The fix that was supposed to have been implemented for the history track not updating when panning the map doesn't work. In fact it's made panning worse as now when you pan the map, the map itself quite often doesn't refresh leaving a blank area of map or worse still will just flicker like something is being refresh but doesn't display anything, certainly not the map

      > The navigation turn prompt popup regularly just displays a blank map instead of the turn or displays the map after you've made the prompted turn.

      > On the map screen, when navigating; pressing the area showing the next turn at the top of the screen brings up a list of the upcoming turns & you can select to preview a map of the turn, however more often than not the map showing the turn doesn't display & when it does it may be a number of minutes before it actually displays it.

  • From this point I am also happy, I did yesterday an 6 hour ride with no issue ,I did not use TBT

Also from release until now I rode ~350 km  , with no freeze

  • many dropouts of speed, heart and radar sensor.

  • Former Member Do you know if the crashes caused by BT/WiFi have been fixed between 9.68 beta & official release of the 10.00?

  • only time, and Garmin developers knows :)

  • I installed version 10.00 yesterday. The device was frozen at main screen looking for wifi connection. Touch screen was not responding. I could reboot It pressing on/off button for several seconds, but I reached again same condición.

Previously I was using v9.68 with no wifi issue.

Finally I solved it connecting the Edge to my Mac. Synchronization worked fine and dismounting the device makes it boot normally. Then you can disable wifi connection and all works normally

I have done a 50 km ride today  with no issue except sensors disconnection that has happened twice for a short time.

  • Thanks for the info. I installed 10.00 via Express earlier today & have since enabled WiFi & BT with no crashes or lockups. I've also connected it to my laptop since & it transferred into Mass Storage automatically, again without locking up. I haven't been on a ride with this build so I'm not counting any chickens just yet

  • yeah, 10.00 upgrade today for me.  I've always left WiFi on, but long ago removed it's association to an SSID.  This is the first upgrade in a while since 9.x where I haven't had to go through some heroics to get it to boot after upgrade.  So far so good.  Smoother than the 9.68 upgrade where I initially had a bootloop.
