I recently ran an event and added several others to my 965. I removed two events from the Garmin Connect calendar, but one won't delete from the watch. I synced the watch several times, added/removed other events, but one specific event remains stuck on the event widget.
Also tried deleting caldendar.fit from the device, but the event comes back on the next sync, even though it is no longer on the calendar.
Is there any way to manually remove events?

I had that issue a few times .. - tried all the things you mention - the only way I found was to do a full reset of the device. Before you do that do make a copy of your device drive so that you can copy…
In the end, I decided to bite the bullet and do the reset. I had a look at the upcoming workouts, and they were all geared towards preparing for this non-existent event.
I don't heavily customise data…
