I updated my software to 26.08, and since then I have had 2 crashes with reboots during swim workouts. In both cases I was using drill mode and pressed the lap button to conclude, whereby it froze and…
After I spent time with support, engineering said they found the bug, will be fixing it, but no timeline on release.

After experimenting a bit, the crash happens after exactly 10 minutes in drill mode (but not 9:59). Definitely a bug introduced in 26.08. Garmin, please correct this!
had the same on FR 255, after I sit in jacuzzi for about 20 minutes ( autopause), and back to activity watch crash
Please connect your watch via charging cable to a computer and sync with Garmin Express. This will put the watch through a soft reset and should resolve the crashing.
I have the same issue with my 965 watch. Support had me do a full reset of the watch and start from scratch. It does not solve the issue. Watch crashed first time using it after full hard reset.
I am reporting the issue to support now - no one else has reported this issue. If you can, please report it so they see many cases
I had done this after advice from a support chat and it worked well for my first two swims after that. I had then restarted the watch (because I thought the touch screen wasn't working right) and the very next swim, same crash! So this reset suggestion is not a permanent fix.

A workaround for drills I found is to limit your drills to less the 3 minutes. Basically every 100 yards end the drill, then start it again for the next 100 (or approx 2 - 2.5 minutes).
When I use the swimming pool mode for over 30 minutes, the watch sometimes restarts and the activity record is lost.
I also noticed that if I use pool swim mode for more than 30 minutes and then press the pause or lap button, the watch may immediately restart. I can reproduce this issue about 2 out of 5 times.
All the same for me.
Crash and reboot at the same point in drill mode
Yep, since an update a few weeks ago (before the holidays), I've had 3 or 4 successive swim activities just end within 5-15min of their start. I didn't push any buttons (i.e. drills), just let it record as usual. Never had problems like this before this update. Garmin, fix this ASAP and release an update! We pay a lot of money for these devices and I use it 95% for swimming - so this failure is catastrophic. At least provide a sense when a fix is coming?!
