Second run in 5 days, where watch not recording elevation or temperature changes

Happened again this evening, temp and elevation remained the exact same during my run

Again this morning, elevation and temperature remained level during run, annoyingly I choose a deliberately hilly route as I'm running a couple of hilly trail 10K's later in the year. Close to contacting support on the issue.  

What firmware are you on? I saw this exact problem twice with 20.21 (beta), but most of my runs with that firmware were ok. I’m on 20.23 (beta) now and it hasn’t happened at all on this firmware. Not sure if anything has actually changed to fix the problem though.

Given that others have seen this with older firmware, I don’t think it’s a problem that was recently introduced. I also haven’t seen any mention of a fix in recent changelogs.

My best guess is that it’s an intermittent problem which has been around for awhile.

No worries. I hope it goes away for you, although it's kinda disturbing that it's an intermittent issue which may have been around for years. (Meaning there was no fix and there may be no fix in the near future, unless someone can recreate this reliably.)

Not that it helps, but when this happened I just enabled elevation correction in Connect and Strava.

Checked my watch and I'm on the latest 20.23, so has happened on this current and previous firmware versions. I've done a soft reset, and cleaned the sensor opening. Considering the temp also remains constant and is needed for altimeter readings, I suspect a software issue rather than a sensor problem.

Yeah immediately before one of the runs which recorded zero elevation change, I went down a few dozen flights of stairs and my watch had no problem detecting that. And the two runs which recorded zero elevation change weren't even on consecutive days. In between those runs, I had other runs which recorded elevation fine

5TH time now in 21 days, done 17 runs and 5 have recorded no rise/fall in elevation or temperature. 3 in the last  8 runs, so hopefully not getting more likely.

@Garmin-Sierra 6th time now in a month, is it a current issue with the 955 watch, seems to be no pattern to it happening

....and again this morning during my local parkrun, no rise in temp or elevation for the entire activity, will raise a case with support, as from what I can find online this seems to be an issue with the sensor rather than a software problem. Will include link to this thread.
