Forerunner 955 Series: When using Ski Activity Profile, activity does not pause when in lift line or on ski lift

Has anyone run into issues with the Ski app getting vastly different results of moving time compared to older watches? I went skiing with my wife using a 955 to her Fenix 6S Pro and for the 2:40 duration I got a moving time of 2:00, yet she got 0:33. The auto lap works when we hop on the lift, but so much time in line and on the lift the 955 is tracking as moving vs the 6S. This first came up when I was comparing to my friends 945 as well and resulted in me trying to stop the watch at the bottom of each run.

Hi Garmin-Sierra may I ask you - are there any news on when this bug could be finally fixed? Assuming it works fine on many other models (including 945) I would expect this should be an easy one to fix…

I just bought the watch. How come the QA team did not catch this BUG. For example if i sit down my speedometer is fluctuating between 0.3-1.5km/h. Not sure if thsi influences the auto pause issue or not. And when im on the ski lift my speed if between 16-18km/h. This is again wierd cause it should be paused while sitting or being on a ski lift. I have less than 30days to return the watch for a full refund so yeah...

They quickly reached out to me to get the device logs so they can look into the issue. I am hopeful this will get fixed in an upcoming software update.

I shared device logs with Garmin and they confirmed that they got it. Let's hope that the bug can be identified and fixed soon.
