FR 955 Series: 13.22 Bug: Structured Repeats -> Warm Up -> On, causes total crash and reboot

(Update on 2022-12-01, I installed 13.22 and the bug is still here)

I just updated my 955 Solar to 13.21 and I discovered a major bug. Using Run activity, I am trying to create a new Training -> Intervals -> Structured Repeats -> Edit Workout

First bug, only the option to add a Warm Up -> On/Off is there. Cool down -> On/Off is completely missing.
Second and more important bug, when I try to set Warm Up -> On the whole watch crashes and restarts.

Oh my, this is only my second day with my new 955 Solar and I can not use it for my workout tomorrow :(

I know that I can make an actual Structured Workout on my Phone and transfer it over, but I really like to use the Structured Interval option to program something quick on the watch. I have been doing that on my 235 which I guess I now need to resurrect.

We have released a fix in the latest production (non-beta) software release that should resolve the report for most users experiencing these symptoms. The software release should continue rolling…

At this time, I do not have any estimate on when a possible fix may be released. I can share that, because I could easily reproduce…

We set structured intervals: warmup, N * (speed interval; rest interval).

Why is there no rest interval after the last interval? This can be important when we want to know the average rest interval heart rate.

Instead, we immediately get a cooldown.

Any update on this bug? I still cannot program structured repeats on the watch without a crash. I never run with my phone and being able to do this on the watch itself is I believe important.

At a core product level, being a great sports-first watch is an important competitive advantage Garmin has against Apple. The smart-watch battle is already lost so I would hope Garmin would prioritize sports-specific features...

Why not use the GC web or app to program ?

Isn't it is a pain to press so many buttons on the watch ? The buttons may wear off faster than usual.

Because I don't want to have to manage all those simple workouts on the watch.

After you make a simple e.g. 12x on/off and send it to the watch, then it will stay there until you manually delete it. This send/use/delete becomes a very tedious process when you do different intervals week in week out.

Same bug for me - switching warm up to on when editing structured interval causes immediate watch reboot. Hope this can get fixed soon.

Interesting! I just tried this on my FR 955 Solar and I don't get a crash when I toggle Warm Up On/Off either using the buttons or touch.

I'm on 13.22.

Garmin-Kevin If you want to investigate why I'm an outlier, I give consent for contact, etc.

Surely this needs to be fixed urgently, these are premium devices in both quality & price!

is anyone at Garmin looking at it?

It has been 2 months since the issue was highlighted. So you can see the level of urgency for Garmin to fix.

As a turnaround, just use the GC mobile.
