Sleep Tracking errors on 955

The sleep tracking function and therefore all of the training advisories are woefully inaccurate! To the point I'm considering returning the watch. The sleep durations are miles out, the sleep stages are obviously wrong. My watch and connect are showing different times/data and despite setting normal sleep start/finish times the watch thinks lounging on the sofa is 'sleeping'.

How can I sort this functionality / bug out foreword i give up and get my money back?

  • I'm trying different ones ..a a Venu 2, Fenix 7 and a Samsung Watch 5. Samsung gives higher scores than the Garmins. But Fenix is at least giving a score and metrics more often than my 955 was, albeit still misses some, as does the Venu. I just think the Garmin sleep stuff has a ways to go yet. My Fenix Stress score is crazy high, where in my Venu 2 it was much more normal and fluctuating when I'd expect. I mean WAY different. And it's supposedly the exact same latest sensor on those two. So you can do as many say and just take it all with a grain of salt, perhaps outright ignore...or just get a much cheaper watch that doesn't have all that going on. To me having my Fenix constantly in the orange in stress, even overnight is .. not good.. especially when theoretically it's basing all these other health and training stats based on what appears wonky data or readings. The Venu 2 is a decent overall smartwatch once its price plummets .. Garmin owns the sports watch market but the health metrics still a ways to go. I just can't do the Apple jump so am going to try Samsung for a while. I'll give up some sports profiles but I can use Hike for my trail runs and still can download maps if I need turn by turn, which I usually don't other than just for fun. I've just been a Garmin user for eons and through many watches so it's something different for me. The health stuff is increasingly important to me with some heart issues I've had the last couple years, so the priority has slid a bit that way. I will miss the awesome golf app on the Fenix (the Venu2 and Samsung are ok), but the absurd number of sports profiles on these upper Garmins just are useless for me, and the health stuff still a gen or two away. Your results may vary of course! The 955 is a great sportwatch..it was slightly on the thick side for me but other than that had a ton of potential.. frankly mine was faulty .. happens I guess.

  • I know that the 955 puts much emphasis on stress for sleep scores. I suspect that's why the Fitbit is more in line with how I feel I have slept because my stress is out of whack anyway because I don't produce cortisol. I don't think the watch measures my stress accurately and this affects its decision making

  • Bump in the hope of getting an answer from Garmin...
