Sleep Tracking errors on 955

The sleep tracking function and therefore all of the training advisories are woefully inaccurate! To the point I'm considering returning the watch. The sleep durations are miles out, the sleep stages are obviously wrong. My watch and connect are showing different times/data and despite setting normal sleep start/finish times the watch thinks lounging on the sofa is 'sleeping'.

How can I sort this functionality / bug out foreword i give up and get my money back?

  • I don't think that's the case. I've had two vivoactives, the three and the four and they recorded sleep much better. On the 955 it doesn't record deep and REM sleep properly, in fact many nights I don't have any rem sleep. On the Vivoactive so I always had at least an hour of REM and at least an hour of deep. So I bought a Fitbit charge 5, and I wear them both. The Fitbit records would I expect and matches with the vivoactives recorded. They both record the correct start and end times for sleep, it's just that the 955 records light sleep for almost the entire night very different to the charge 5. Is something wrong with the 955

  • The two 735xt watches I have record more believable sleep data than either of the two 955 watches I’ve had. More importantly the 955 has  recorded afternoon rest as sleep on over 80%of days and corrupted training metrics! So, yes the 955 sleep metrics are rubbish!

  • My sleep metrics are rarely getting recorded at all..no sleep score, etc.. and even in the sporadic occasion they are, they are problematic..way off from other sleep trackers I've sed and still use. The 955 has been disappointing in a couple of the features I use a lot and it's been frustrating for the cost ..

  • Okay, maybe return your 955, and buy a fitbit

  • Tradeoffs for sure.. I wanted one watch to do it all, and thought this would be it, but not there yet.

  • Two watches solar and non-solar same issue. I train in the morning, mid to late afternoon onwards is sedentary- iPhone, browsing tv , working, 955 records that as sleep. No stopping it or syncing corrections fixes it. Training metrics corrupted. if I’m driving or moving more it’s fine. For me the watch is useless - fix suggestions 1 raise detection threshold in software or 2 set a window within which sleep is legitimate (use sleep settings in user setup) or 3 manually start stop like an activity 

  • I'm wearing a fitbit charge 5 at night as well as Garmin. Garmin sleep score about half of fitbit. Last night 50 poor vs 92 excellent. Usually deep and rem on garmin are about half of Fitbit and awake much more frequent.  9 hours 29m sleep last night. I understand Garmin takes stress score into account and my watch struggles with measuring that due to other factors. 

  • Which Fitbit? Which Fitbit is equivalent to the 955? Does it integrate with iPhone?

  • Charge 5. It's not equivalent and I just use it to get sleep stats. I use Android so I'm not sure about latter. Other than sleep stats the 955 is far superior but I got the Firbit on sale at Kohls for <$50
