Any comparison of screen glare between 955 Solar and non-Solar versions?

Has anyone seen any comparison of screen glare between the 955 Solar and the non-Solar versions? It seems like there were glare issues with screen in the Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar, but I'm curious to know if we'll see the same with the 955. Solar for me would be a "nice to have" provided there's not a great loss of screen clarity.

Hi, my direct experience comes from the Fenix 6, and it is limited to solar vs non solar versions (no sapphire owned)

Solar versions visibility is worst, not for the glare but for the glass transparency…

The usable screen size is exactly the same on solar and non-solar, and the glass is the same size, and the plastic bezel around the outside of the glass is the same. The only difference on the non-solar…

Thanks for this, I had to return my brand new Fenix 7s Solar Sapphire because the screen was too small and dim, I generally use reading glasses and really struggled to read the data without them!, especially the maps, coming from Polar I only stumbled across the Forerunner 955 last week from a Youtube review by DC Rainmaker, I thought then that the non-solar 955 actually looked brighter and better - charging is not an issue for me and the fact that Ive saved £300 on a watch which is not only lighter but has more or less the same features with a better screen! Wiggle have them in stock btw

Did you notice a slightly laggy screen in the solar version? I've read that this was the case for the solar version.

i assume you are referring to the one i showed in the sun and not one of the default ones on both the 945LTE and 955 comparison.

you are welcome. it's a nice face. it was free when i originally tried it out, but it's now $2. definitely worth it if that's the look you are going for. Big Easy is my daily driver these days but the aesthetic of this one is very nice and if i recall, has a slightly lower battery consumption too.
