Temperature data screen works on other activities but no longer on swim activity (the only application of temp I had some interest in to gage water temp) after the update. Anyone else seeing this?
Thxs.

The ability to measure water temperature readings during a pool swim activity was removed in version 7.80. After through testing and investigation, we have discovered that having the barometer-thermometer…
Just chatted with Garmin support about this. Garmin disabled the Baro functions (incl temp) for swim activities. So no live temp data- frustrating. The temp you see on the swim activity in Garmin Connect…
Open water swimming is unaffected this is only tied to pool swimming.
Internal sensor did give extra degrees to the water temperature when the water is cold. Maybe it's not so big in tropical waters that are more close to your own temperature, but water that is like 13 degrees in celsius your own temperature did cause it to be too much.
And for the reason. Saving battery. I think was it Suunto or Polar does the same, disable baro during swims as it's not giving proper data and the temperature sensor is for baro.
I purchased the Garmin Forerunner 945 couple weeks ago
Return it then. The temperature readings while in water weren't that accurate anyway.
I want money or the feature back.
It was never a feature. You won't be able to find any literature from Garmin where they say their devices were designed for (or even capable of) measuring water temperature while swimming using the internal thermometer sensor. The purpose of the sensor is to be used with the barometer.
jmto, thanks for answering. I will try that. Unfortunately my OWS season is done for this year. I was quite happy with the internal Temperature sensor. In swim workouts longer than 30 minutes my unit was quite accurate. Anyway water temperature was not why i bought the FR945
