Just chatted with Garmin support about this. Garmin disabled the Baro functions (incl temp) for swim activities. So no live temp data- frustrating. The temp you see on the swim activity in Garmin Connect…
Open water swimming is unaffected this is only tied to pool swimming.
I am having the same problems. Also, my pool swim seemed to count more extra laps after the update.
Temp widget is showing data for me, but what I've noticed is that the reading is far too high. According to the widget it's currently 30° C, when the actual temperature is nearer 15.
The temperature readings are "always" wrong, because it's greatly affected by the proximity to your skin. So you can't rely on it to measure outdoors or indoor temperatures. Definitively not when it's cooler than your skin temperature.
My 945 on v7.80 now displays dashes for Temp field while I'm swimming, and this was the only real use of Temp info for me. On syncing I do see Avg, Hi and Lo temps reported in the activity. Come on Garmin!

The temp you see on the swim activity in Garmin Connect afterward is the outdoor temp your watch collected online, not a measurement. I requested this be changed back- YOU all need to do this too. It is done as a Feature Request. Grrrr.
