Temperature data screen - swim activity not working after 7.8 update

Temperature data screen works on other activities but no longer on swim activity (the only application of temp I had some interest in to gage water temp) after the update. Anyone else seeing this?

The ability to measure water temperature readings during a pool swim activity was removed in version 7.80. After through testing and investigation, we have discovered that having the barometer-thermometer…

Just chatted with Garmin support about this. Garmin disabled the Baro functions (incl temp) for swim activities. So no live temp data- frustrating. The temp you see on the swim activity in Garmin Connect…

Open water swimming is unaffected this is only tied to pool swimming.

Why? I know how cold the water feels. I don’t need the watch to tell me what it thinks the temperature of the water is when chances are that temperature is affected by body heat.

We don’t all need to request this feature but of course you are free to do so.

Can you see it with Tempe still? If you can, then I don't see a big problem here as the temperature with the internal temperature sensor didn't correspond to water temperature. Tempe got much better results on that.

That’s beside the point. I had a data field that stopped working. I went to the forum to determine if it was a problem with my watch or a more general software issue. Thanks to several relevant comments I have my answer.

That was a question. Thank you for not answering it. Luckily I went today for a swim and yes. Tempe still works during swims.

Came to the forum to see if this is a known problem. Started in August. All my July activities have temperature. Open Water Swimming seems to be fine though. Where can I submit the request? I think I am going to report it as a bug.

How do you use Tempe during a swim??

I clip the Tempe to the wrist strap. Then I think it's close enough for the signals to work also under water.. At least I get temperature data that is more correct than the internal sensor.

I didn't know it was waterproof. Internal sensor worked fine for me. I hate it when features like this suddenly disappear for no reason. At least, no reason mentioned.
