Forerunner 945 wifi synchronization

Hi,

recently I encountered some problems with the synchronization via wifi. When I try to synchronize, it says "synchronization failed". When I connect the watch to Garmin Express the synchronization via wifi works again, but only until the point I start and save an activity. After this it does not work again.

Any ideas what to do?

    The issue is definitely at Garmin's side since different watch models and users at different locations are impacted. On my FR 935 WiFi sync doesn't work correctly too. I noticed the activities are uploaded, but updated epo.bin file (Extended Prediction Orbit file with satellite information for faster GPS lock) is not dowloaded to the watch if synchronized via WiFi. Possibly that is one of the reasons for the message „Transfer failed“ as not all items get synchronized. The sync via Bluetooth/Garmin Connect or PC/Garmin Express works well.

    Toronto, Canada here. Have done hard restarts, you name it, have changed my home network password, and I cannot connect my 945 to my wifi. I keep getting an "incorrect password" red screen with an X. Happens via app and on device. 

  • This sounds like a different issue, possibly to do with the encryption method on your router.

    I just tried a wifi sync and it worked!!!

    It seems to work again. 

  • Also on 645 it is back operational

  • If noticed wifi sync doesn’t work when my forerunner 935 is not connected to my iPhone via bluetooth.

    If I test the wifi connections with garmin connect everything is working. If I then switch of bluetooth on my iPhone, wifi sync doesn’t work.

    Might be a similar problem for forerunner 94t

    hi guys, spent the whole day trying t synch up my FR 945....tried everything... even hard reset...

    the only way I was able to synch was to use 2.4GHZ but mode 802.11g (g mode) not b/g/n
    after that change on my router, the 945 was able to synch via wifi and also able to synch spotify playlists....
