Is the button issue resolved now?

After receiving a 945 a couple of months ago and seeing reports here of buttons not clicking that the up and down buttons on mine were quite squishy.

i didn't see much point exchanging at the time as replacements looked to be the same or worse.

Wondering at this stage if the issue has been fixed 100% or is it still current on new ones as otherwise this one is working ok.

For me the down button clicks if left a couple of seconds between pushes while the up button never clicks.

i'd like to know I'm getting one that's better before swapping otherwise it's not worth the inconvenience.

I'm in Australia if that makes any difference to the batches being sent out.

  • Is Garmin Australia covering the postage. Hopefully you're not paying postage each time. Insurance also?

Just sent a request to Garmin Australia as the up button squishiness and non click has worsened with the button sticking and not working at times.

  • That's sad. Just replaced mine version with mushed/sticky up and down. Replaced watch now has the same but with back and start/stop....

  • Just sent off mine to Garmin Australia today. The message I received from them said "Your device will be be replaced with a new box device". Here's hoping.

  • i'll send back my Rev C 945 the next days, as Garmin Support supposed to do so - AGAIN.
back and light button are again not working fine after just 2 month of usage. i even do not get any feedback that the button has been pressed. so every time i push the button i have to visually check if something happened - very annoying.
    the others are still fine.

will see how the next replacement will do - otherwise i'll sell it and move away from the 945 (and maybe garmin as there is no other fitting watch for me)

  • Received the replacement from Garmin Australia today. All the buttons work great at the moment. All nice and clicky.

They said the the email that the one they were sending was new and it looks new but the box says Rev A. Music note on the down button instead of  a double arrow like the Rev A I sent back though. The buttons work as their meant to and that's the main thing.

  • Garmin replaces my 945; the bottoms work perfectly after one month and 45 workouts(15 in swimming pool). REV. C...Europe

  •  - I’m in Australia and had exactly the same experience back in October/November. Garmin sent me a brand new Rev A with the new music button and it has been perfect since. Buttons have been solid as the day I got it. I didn’t post back straight away purely because I wanted to see if it stood the test of time but I can now say that the replacement is pretty rock solid. With the new version 4.0 software I am very happy! I hope your experience is the same. Whilst it was inconvenient that the issue occurred, sending a brand new replacement was pretty awesome service in my mind.

  • Are you guys sure that you have a revision A and not a revision D? The reason I ask is that it is written in two places on the box. Mine is revision D but it also says revision A somewhere else on the box. See attached photos. I think you need to look in the bottom right corner to see if it is a D or not...

  • On the box mine came in it says Rev A in both of those places.

  • I just got a new Rev D 945, its like night and day from my Launch 945. Very happy. Recommend it!
