Is the button issue resolved now?

After receiving a 945 a couple of months ago and seeing reports here of buttons not clicking that the up and down buttons on mine were quite squishy.

i didn't see much point exchanging at the time as replacements looked to be the same or worse.

Wondering at this stage if the issue has been fixed 100% or is it still current on new ones as otherwise this one is working ok.

For me the down button clicks if left a couple of seconds between pushes while the up button never clicks.

i'd like to know I'm getting one that's better before swapping otherwise it's not worth the inconvenience.

I'm in Australia if that makes any difference to the batches being sent out.

  • my experience with 945 is all 3 left button seem like need two times to bounces back to orignal position

it is total different feeling with the right buttons, is it normal?

  • One user of F6 posted a picture where start/stop button fell out with spring when he opened the box.  Also past problems with F5 Plus.  Would think some of these manufacturing issues would have been resolved by now.

  • hey guys - just received a brand new exchange 945 - rev D for what (or not) matters - all buttons have a very nice tactile feedback, way better compared to my previous 945 even when it was new (i remember i was a bit disappointed  when i first played with the buttons); overall happy until now, looking forward for at least 2 weeks of pool swimming :D

le: just had a chat with garmin support, apparently my device was made on the 03.10 :D - the very nice guy on the line said that it's a first for him seeing this and there should be no issues with the device

  • I have revision D. I have had two replacements. The buttons were ok. But just ran the Chicago Marathon and this morning the down button is sticking. This is so frustrating. I have not tried washing the wash yet to see if that resolves the issue. Sigh

  • i wash my watch every day and i had the mushy buttons - Rev. A
i just got a Rev C ~2 Weeks ago as a replacement - so far buttons are fine, but who knows how long - even when i read that you have the same issue still with Rev D :-(

  • do you feel double bounce issue when you release the button?

mine one 3 button on the left feel like this.

    Thank you.

  • nope...it's a firm click on both sides, perhaps the start/stop is a bit more pronounced, but similar to the 935. overall happy, now hopefully they last. as a fun thing - i have a friend with an very early 945 and those buttons feel pretty good as well, so most probably with the first batches it's like in a lottery...

  • mine still wait for the dealers to confirm for me.

Already send for warranty and hopefully the acknowledge this problem and replacement for me

and I will immediately upgrade to fenix 6pro

  • They are sending another watch. Hopefully this new watch will fix it? At this point I wish I had waited for the fenix 6 or I wish they would allow exchanging for a Fenix 6. I am appreciative of Garmin exchanging no questions ask but I wish the problem was rectified properly sooner.

  • I have had two replacements from Garmin Australia so far for this button issue and will be requesting my fourth watch shortly - it’s definitely not an unknown issue to them. I ready hope it is fixed now
