Is the button issue resolved now?

After receiving a 945 a couple of months ago and seeing reports here of buttons not clicking that the up and down buttons on mine were quite squishy.

i didn't see much point exchanging at the time as replacements looked to be the same or worse.

Wondering at this stage if the issue has been fixed 100% or is it still current on new ones as otherwise this one is working ok.

For me the down button clicks if left a couple of seconds between pushes while the up button never clicks.

i'd like to know I'm getting one that's better before swapping otherwise it's not worth the inconvenience.

I'm in Australia if that makes any difference to the batches being sent out.

  • i got my replacement today, but just a Rev C. so i guess it will not take that long until i'll have to send it in again to get a replacement because of the button issue :-(

not very satisfying to not get one of the latest as a "Rev A" Customer to prevent further issues.

  • Does that Rev C you received have a button issue currently? I presume Garmn would be repairing ones returned and re issuing.

  • This may be a silly question but how do you know what the Rev of the replacement is? My understanding based on previous responses in the forum was that it was written on the box which is not provided when you get a replacement?

  • i got a fully original package and there it's written on the box

  • for now all buttons are much better than the ones on my first watch (rev a), but still the up-button is the most problematic one. i miss the "clicky feeling" - but if it really would stay as it is now, it would be ok for me.
my experience with some 935 and now 945 says i should be not too optimistic, but let's see

  • Mean we can hear the click sound with click?

  • Garmin-Blake or other folks,

Exactly how do customers reach out to local support team and get a replacement 945 with buttons that work?  The support website referenced above is not clear.  I purchased mine last week on Amazon. Thanks.

  • Yes, i feel and here the click for now. (First day of usage)

  • If we have one that "apparently" has no problems right now, and knowing this you mention, should we request change?

What is the probability that we will fail later? I have a FR945 of the Bundle, the blue one; and it's Rev. A.

  • just a remark - i've sent back today at garmin my 945 and did revert to my 935; now i have a 935 that has been replaced (with a brand new one, in sealed box) due to alitmeter failuri, right before the warranty ended - so it was used for about 2 years! and afterwards, i used the new one for about 2 more months before i received the 945. all the buttons on this 935 have the nice click, nothing sticks or is mushy...so hopefully they managed to manufacture it in the same way as the 935, as that one is simply great...
