Is there a known issue with the 945 and HRM Run? I can’t get either of mine to connect anymore.

i can no longer connect my HRM run to the 945. I changed the battery, tried to refind even broke out my back up and tried to connect to no avail.

Is there a known issue here? Or am I the lucky one to figure it out? Or . . .

  • Super, thanks  - I didn't know this before. Will the broadcast suck up more battery? (I'm assuming this is to share data with another screen?)

Be nice if there was some sort of indicator next to the heart icon indicating an external source,

I never get a heart icon on my screen prior to starting my activity when the watch is connecting to sensors if I'm using the WHR. The only time I see the heart icon is when it connects to an external HR monitor.

  • I have had to do the reboot trick but I also had a low battery warning the other day and changed the battery. Then, few days later, it stopped connecting. Think it was a dud battery as replaced it again and has then been OK again.

  • Yes it will suck more battery - but if the point is to check if your external HRM is connected - it is not as OHR is disabled while external HR sensor is connected.

  • This is a bug, I can only use my HRMRun ONE time, then need to reboot the watch to connect it again. Firmware 2.50.
So on every run I need to:

    - Reboot the watch
    - Sync with GC as to have heat acclimatation data (yes i'm running over 30° here)
    - Start activity

    LOL? NO!

I'm a software architect (it's 25 years i develop software)...I will be able to fix all these bugs in days, Garmin are you joking on us? (written by an old time customer of garmin trackers too). Need a pro dev?

  • Same here.
    Can confirm that as well...

  • I have that problem, too. When I start a run, I start it with the start button and when the GPS signal is found, I go back to clock mode with Back Button and then start the run again. And then the HRM Run will be found immediately. The clock does not have to be restarted.

  • Oh, this explains why I never encountered that problem with my HRM-run: I use the 945 only for running and power it off after use. So by accident I did what you described :-)

  • Mine connects perfectly with FW 2.50, haven't noticed any issue.

Do you have difficulties pairing it or is it paired but not detected when you start an activity?

  • Awesome, never noticed this before but indeed saw this this morning... HRM Run connected -> Heart symbol in the main run screen at the top with the 'options' line. Not connected -> No heart symbol.
