I couldn't on my 965 , I did the button thingy and started from scratch effectively
Tried to load the backup and that caused another blue triangle so I decided to start from scratch.
Luckily I had a backup of my entire device drive and a list of all my glances and activities, something i've done for a while now as we didn't have this backup option earlier
FYI an earlier post on this

Thanks for answering. Eventually I've been able to see the watch connecting at very low level to a Linux workstation keeping on holding the start/stop button but I was unable to mount its memory card (MTP service not yet loaded I suppose). So I went for the hard reset. Anyway the backup was restored succesfully and upon your hint I immediately synced the watch to the Connect app to refresh the corrupted file.
My watch is up and running again after a factory reset, but I'm still curious about the GPE.bin file. There is no such file on my watch. The RemoteSW folder is completely empty and a search of the entire watch isn't helpful. Any thoughts?
Under Settings/System/About, does the watch say "Ephemeris: Current"?
