Yep, bricked Forerunner 255. I started a walk and flashing triangle. A soft reset does nothing.
I'm not using beta firmware; had an update about a week ago.

How can you do a backup or even restoring your individual settings? I have performed a hard reset yesterday in the evening and now I need to set up my watch from scratch - that`s pretty annoying because I really want my watch back in the exact settings as before....
Fixed mine. I had to do the hard reset to factory, drop and repair with GC app and with phone bluetooth; it then updated and also downloaded my settings from backup. I assume the update after reconnect to phone got rid of the bug. I used the phone to track an activity this morning so all good. Forerunner 255. Hardest bit is finding and using the proper hard reset instructions.

Still experiencing the issue in the UK, 10.45 gmt. Can't do a reset on my 255. On line chat unavailable. Had an email back from support which said sorry I'd experienced (past tense) problems and provided a link to the generic pages which have been unhelpful. Awful comms from garmin in general and their testing team should be hauled over the coals.
I removed the device from bluetooth settings on phone, and now it connects. But it is factory reset, and all the watch settings are gone.
Hold the stop/start button/back button/light. Once it beeps once, take finger off start/stop and when it beeps twice take fingers off all and it will reboot.
Same experience here - happened to both my 255 and Venu 3. FR 935 was unaffected. Used the V3 for a walk last night with no issues. I had a complex interval workout scheduled yesterday morning with the 255 and so had to run it the old fashioned way + using my cell stopwatch for the overall time, then calculated pace from the distance off a prior garmin GPS tracking at the same location. No HR data though. Took me 2 hours to reset both watches!
24 hours after....any news? Still the same problem persists with the blue triangle
