Hey guys, 255 is not that old and already lacks a feature that is just a software update. Training Readiness its a cool feature that your fans would love to see.

  • Fans would also like to see a product that works well in the basic scope of a sports watch: a good heart rate monitor, no hanging up, no data distortion, no data transfer to the server, no need to wonder every time whether the training has good indications. Garmin make a simple good watch, because now it is only good in the catalog.
  • I would like to see Training readiness feature on FR255 as well!

  • Then go buy a watch that has this feature. The FR255 was never advertised as having Training Readiness as a feature. I don't know why you all keep requesting this?

  • I'm really happy with my Forerunner 255 but the point others are constantly making in posts here and on Reddit is that the lack of Training Readiness is still not available for the Forerunner 255 series while it was added for the Forerunner 955, Fenix 7 and Epix gen. 2 which all were released also in early/mid 2022. I'm aware these watches were a bit more expensive when launched but still hardware wise the 255 series should be able to offer this.

Everyone that wanted to buy a 265/965 has done so and why limited a watch purely software based as that is the feeling with many customers and also DC Rainmaker.

Garmin is limiting devices software wise even though the hardware can manage it and a watch is the same age as other watches that did get new software features.

Fenix 7 series - launch date: 18/January/2022 - has Training Readiness

Epix Gen. 2 series - launch date: 18/January/2022 - has Training Readiness

Forerunner 955 - launch date: 1/June/2022 - has Training Readiness

    Forerunner 255 (Music) - launch date: 1/June/2022 - doesn't have Training Readiness

  • we all realise this is purely their sales tactics, there are so many and way bigger issues with 255 and other watches. isn't it worth focusing on having Garmin fix those to have reliable device instead of asking more and more to add? I have training readiness on I2, but missing naps and other new stuff and it will never come, I know it. 255 got lot new stuff recently except training readiness, looks like we'll never have all of we want

  • The latest public beta version 22.12 mentions:

    • Supports updates to the user's training readiness score throughout the day.

If this is what it sounds like that would be superb and pretty unexpected after all this time.

How do you interpret it? I'm not in the beta program nor am I running the latest version since I've read quite some responses on recent official versions (non-beta) which is why I've sticked to an older version until I read good response and this is live in a regular version.

Can anyone that uses the public beta of 22.12 confirm this is in fact the Training Readiness as we know it from other watches like the Forerunner 265, 165, 966, 965.

  • Sorry, it is not available on the forerunner 255 beta 22.12 version

  • The changelog is probably a copy-pase from Forerunner 955. It has happened a few times in the past.

The changelog also mentions touch screen and hot keys - another 2 things we don't have on 255

  • Thanks for confirming. I'm not sure then why they mention it if was done in error it's extra painful.
