Pairing FR255 to Garmin Connect does not work after iOS 18 upgrade on my iPhone 14 Pro, FR255 sw 20.26

I do not know, if it could be a reason, 2 days ago I upgraded iPhone 14 Pro on iOS 18. Yesterday I disconnected my FR255 from Garmin Connect, because there was a steps sync problem and then it is not possible to connect the device back to Garmin Connect via bluetooth. Syncing via Garmin Express app working well. I have tried everything. Turn off both devices, on/off bluetooth, delete bluetooth connection etc. When I start pairing in FR255, Garmin Connect find the device, I confirm the 6-digits password and then, after pairing process, I see only message: "pairing is not successful". Does anyone have the same problem?

  • Garmin Express on PC works fine, but this doesn't fix our problem with Bluetooth connection. 

  • I SOLVED this issue! I have played with various adjustment in Apple health and suddennly Garmin Connect syncing starts working. I am afraid I do not know which one concrete step cause the unfix this problem. F.e.: I allowed to Garmin Connect Read and Write all data in Apple health. Good luck. 

  • The same thing happens to me... iPhone 14 pro the connect app stopped working after updating to iOS18.

  • I had the same problem with my Forerunner 255 Music. I found this and it worked.    

    Pairing Your Phone

    To use the connected features on your watch, you must pair it directly through the Garmin ConnectTm app, instead of from the Bluetooth® settings on your phone.

    1. During the initial setup on your watch, select  when you are prompted to pair with your phone.
      NOTE: If you previously skipped the pairing process, you can hold UP, and select Connectivity > Phone > Pair Phone.
      NOTE: If you have a Forerunner® non-music watch, you can hold UP, and select Phone > Pair Phone.
    2. Scan the QR code with your phone, and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the pairing and setup process.
