Pairing FR255 to Garmin Connect does not work after iOS 18 upgrade on my iPhone 14 Pro, FR255 sw 20.26

I do not know, if it could be a reason, 2 days ago I upgraded iPhone 14 Pro on iOS 18. Yesterday I disconnected my FR255 from Garmin Connect, because there was a steps sync problem and then it is not possible to connect the device back to Garmin Connect via bluetooth. Syncing via Garmin Express app working well. I have tried everything. Turn off both devices, on/off bluetooth, delete bluetooth connection etc. When I start pairing in FR255, Garmin Connect find the device, I confirm the 6-digits password and then, after pairing process, I see only message: "pairing is not successful". Does anyone have the same problem?

  • delete all the bluetooth FR255 devices, then delete also in garmin connect, and try again

  • I did it all, iPhone always find FR255 and after code confirmation and syncing, it is all seems good... finally, iPhone does not pair Garmin :-( I will try other iPhone with older iOS.

  • I have tried to pair my FR255 with old iPhone 8, iOS 16.7.1 and Garmin Connect works perfect. So I confirm, that problem is in new iOS 18.

  • Works fine on my iPhone pro max12 with ios18

  • Having an issue with approach s70.  tries to pair and then keeps saying there is a problem.   When I can get it to pair, it goes from connected to not connected every 2 seconds when I look at the bluetooth screen, so it never syncs to Garmin connect since it is not connected to my iPhone.   I have turned on and off, reset network settings, removed and tried to re-pair the device.   nothing is working.  

  • Since ios18 my Vivoactive 4 connects to Garmin Connect and show heart rate and will send messages through but no information like resting heart rate, body battery, sleep etc is showing up?

  • Same issue with my FR 945, after I got new iPhone 16 with iOS18

  • I am facing same issue with epix pro, not able to connect with iPhone 15 pro on iOS 18. Is there any suggestion by anyone. 

  • I eventually got through to chat support and was advised to use Garmin express on a pc. I’d done all the deleting and reinstalling nothing of which worked. Turning phone off and on after did seem to have z better fresh start. Anyway I did install Express and connected phone eventually which did a sync but the data still hadn’t gone across to garmin connect so I thought it hadn’t worked . But then a bit later I was scrolling through my watch screens and there was a message about connecting or sharing which I clicked but didn’t pay much attention too and it all synced up!  Not sure if that was luck or it’s the fix?!

  • I called to Apple support today and probably it is iOS18 bug which cause incompatibility iOS18 with some iPhones. We have to wait for next iOS update. BTW: syncing Garmin with my old iPhone 8 and iPad air 4 as well is working fine, so for me it is a solution until Apple solve the issue.
