Thats strange , mine have always been very accurate across devices. Thats a 10% difference.
Are you using the same GPS type settings?
Did a proper lock on at start result?
Look at the maps , can one see a difference? That may help isolate the reason.
One isn't using an HRM with "indoor only" not activated?
Can you establish which is correct using a map / prior runs?
Thank for your attention.
The GPS setting is automatic selection for both, the track is the same, we start and finish at the same time and we run side by side for all the track. The only differences are: I run with HR Garmin Pro-Band (Forerunner 255) and my friend as followed a training 10km in a selected range.
What is the setting for the HRM Pro . Make sure Pace and Distance is set to Indoor only.
In Garmin Connect you can export the activity.
Let you friend send you his run and you can compare the maps in Connect.
There you will see any deviations. Probably some GPS hick up?
If HRM Pro is set to pace and distance also outdoors then it used the HRM for distance and if it isn't calibrated correctly etc it can be an issue also, Hence important to set to Indoors only on can give differences.
Thanks, I've resolved the problem!!
