Heart Rate Data and External Coros Arm Band Monitor

Latest Firmware update to Garmin 255 has rendered Coros arm band HR Monitor useless. I deleted the device, re - paried to my Android phone . Device shows as connected to my 255 when I start a run , but no heart data is communicated to the watch. Separate issue, but using wrist based HR monitor on the 255 seems more inaccurate than ever. , showing insanely high heart rates at very low intensity, I have tried shutting the watch down, re-sterting, heart rates still way too high for the effort exerted.

  • Thank you, I bought one and it is as you say, has no problems, not as comfortable as the coros strap but at least it works

  • Perhaps the wrist based application (s) are more reliable on the more expensive Garmin watches, but I totally agree on the unreliable results on the 255. Then there is the issue of "Running Dynamics on the Watch" . I have had sessions in which the stride length was recorded at .65 m ( very short ) for the entire workout of intervals, regardless of pace. I like to compare running dynamics for the same workout over time. The best way seems to be using the HRM Pro Chest Strap, or in a distant 2nd place the RD POD clip on. I checked out STRYD as a potential solution , but the instructions to link with Garmin made my eyes glaze over ( my shortcoming !)
