Does Factory Reset delete any data (such as HRV status)?

I am thinking about factory resetting my FR255, as I would like to set all glances, controls, watch faces and activity settings to their defaults.

Will I lose any data? For example, does the HRV status sync to the cloud (so that I will not have to wait another three weeks to collect my HRV data)?

Will it affect my Garmin Coach plan? (I am about to finish a 20 weeks long HM plan with coach Amy).

Will I lose any other data?

The only thing I am aware of is that I will have to set Garmin Wallet again (and I am fine with that). Is there anything else I should know ahead?

(I don't have the music version of the watch so losing music files is not an issue for me.)

  • This post I did a while ago may help.

    https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/running-multisport/f/forerunner-955-series/329526/some-advice-before-upgrading-replacing-a-watch-or-a-hard-reset

Since the backend changes a while ago and physio true up etc , some things are a lot better.

I got a new (replacement) 965  a few weeks ago and started from scratch and was up and running is a reasonable space of time. The suggestions I note in the post may be helpful. I have reset a few times over the past year with the 965.

I can't recall the HRV issues but history does come across, I dont recall starting from scratch with that (so to say)

I dont use coach , but I assume that is on connect and will resync, but I have no knowledge in that regard.

The main issue will be the Data Screen setups , and other setting that you need to recheck afterwards. The suggestions will help on the datascreens, I do it always.

    Hope this helps a bit.
