255 in Boot loop after updating firmware !!!

so Garmin's solution is to ignore people who have issues with their devices.

the only solution is to factory reset and lose all your settings, right ?

This is not about defending Garmin in anyway but Software is software and it is impossible to caught all kind of bugs. With good testing you can avoid the most but there might always be some border cases that wasn’t thought about when created the test cases. In some cases you got into a real bad state that is not possible to recover from without a factory reset. Maybe that is what happened here.

With that said, first try a soft reset, if that does not help then back up your settings (system - “Back up & restore”), do a hard (factory reset) and then restore settings from backup

I am a senior dev, so I can understand bugs.

but when you sell your watches 300e minimum, you make sure that the user settings is store somewhere safe on the device, so the factory reset is loading them when rebooting.

The bootloop doesn't let you backup your settings...

My mistake, you are completely right. Of-course not possible to backup when not boot up correctly. Hope you will get it solved anyway

well, I got it solved with factory reset and losing all my settings. So I don't think it was a win.

Rather the opposite in my mind.
